Community & Protective Services

The Community and Protective Services department is all about community wellbeing. This department works directly with members of our community, including seniors, families, and children, and enhances Hinton’s quality of life in every aspect of their day-to-day work by providing recreation, sport and leisure services; parks, open space and trails; cultural event support, and social services and programs for all ages.  The department is responsible for the safety of our community. This includes public safety education programs, internal health and safety for all Town employees, fire and wildfire protection services, bylaw enforcement, animal control, and traffic enforcement.

Emergency Services in Hinton:

  • Ambulance: Hinton's ambulance services are provided by Hinton EMS, which is located at 184 Eaton Road, Hinton, AB T7V 1Y5. Ph: 780-817-2522
  • Fire Department: Hinton Fire Rescue is dedicated to providing quality services to Hinton in the form of fire protection, prevention, and education.
  • Hinton Victim Support Services Unit: The Hinton Victim Support Services Unit provides services to victims of crime or trauma in the Hinton area.
  • RCMP: The Hinton RCMP Detachment provides policing services for the Town of Hinton and surrounding areas.
