Traveling north at the Highway 16 and 40 Junction is the Bighorn Route to Grande Cache and Grande Prairie. Highway 40 South leads to the small community of Cadomin.

Public Transportation
In 2009, the Hinton Transit System became a permanent service for the residents of Hinton. This service provides transit service 6 days a week throughout the community. The Town of Hinton also manages the Freedom Express service which provides safe, economical, wheelchair-accessible, and door-to-door transportation for seniors, disabled adults, and children.
