Air Travel
Yellowhead County maintains the Jasper-Hinton Airport. The airport is located 10 kilometres northwest of Hinton. It is an unmanned airport with maintenance staff members that keep the airport runways safe and clear of snow, ice, and debris. There are phones at the airport for contacting taxi services or other modes of transport. The main phone number is 780-865-4474.

Hinton is located along Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway), a major east-west transportation route from Manitoba to British Columbia. Hinton is a member of the Yellowhead Highway Association.
Long highway

Traveling north at the Highway 16 and 40 Junction is the Bighorn Route to Grande Cache and Grande Prairie. Highway 40 South leads to the small community of Cadomin.

Public Transportation

In 2009, the Hinton Transit System became a permanent service for the residents of Hinton. This service provides transit service 6 days a week throughout the community. The Town of Hinton also manages the Freedom Express service which provides safe, economical, wheelchair-accessible, and door-to-door transportation for seniors, disabled adults, and children.
