Calling all Seniors!
A key demographic supported by this service is seniors. Seniors have to navigate the challenges of accessing benefits and government systems, finding community resources, and building support networks. Randy is here to help seniors navigate these processes. We're here to help keep our seniors engaged in the community and connected with the supports they need.
Home Support Services
The Home Support Program offers light housekeeping for residents based on a sliding fee
scale. With fees as low as $8.00 per hour, it provides essential housekeeping services to support vulnerable residents’ ability to age in place and remain in their homes. This service also offers some errand running services, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Home Support Program also delivers Meals on Wheels to residents in need. The in-home service also provides a valuable social connection for isolated residents, supporting their wellbeing and mental health. The relationships formed between clients and staff also supports clients’ ability to access other FCSS services, supporting the hub model that involves FCSS as the central, one-stop agency for supports.
We are here to help with free of charge with benefits, credits and filing income taxes! Understanding and filling out applications for benefits like OAS, CPP, CERB and many others can be quite overwhelming, especially during COVID-19 with new benefits and changes to existing ones. Make an appointment today and we will assist you by calling 780-865-6023.

Lifeline Program
The affordable in-home installation of Lifeline units allows people to continue living independently by providing them with access to emergency support if needed.
Forty years ago, Philips Lifeline founded the medical alert service industry with one mission: to help seniors live independently and confidently. Philips Lifeline wants to make sure they do everything possible to help reduce the risk of falling and get Subscribers help quickly if a fall occurs.
When you experience a fall, medical issue, or other emergency, every second counts. If you are alone, delayed medical care can jeopardize your recovery and your independence! The Philips Lifeline Medical Alert Service provides simple fast access to help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
How It Works
1. Summon help: Simply push your Lifeline Help Button at any time to connect to the 24/7 Response Centre.
2. Hear a reassuring voice: A Lifeline Response Associate will access your profile and assess the situation.
3. Know help is on the way: An Associate will contact a neighbour, loved one, or emergency services based on your specific needs, and will follow up to confirm that help has arrived.

Compass for the Caregiver
Caregiving can be a stressful, isolating, and overwhelming experience. It can have a negative impact on the caregiver’s physical and mental health. The COMPASS for the Caregiver program helps caregivers balance their own well-being with the challenges of caregiving.
COMPASS is a supportive multi-session workshop facilitated by someone who understands how difficult caregiving can be. Discussed in the program: dealing with guilt and grief, managing stress, improving communication, navigating the system and planning for the journey ahead.
We offer this program multiple times each year - please email Randy for more information about the next sessions.
Friendly Visitor Program
Many of us are isolated, lonely, or in need of a meaningful friendship. This service is designed to connect residents that are looking for a friendly visit or call with volunteers in the hopes that a supportive, ongoing friendship forms.
Income Tax Program
Offers free income tax return filing for people with simple tax returns who are within a specific lower income threshold. This program operates through volunteers and is available year-round.
We train volunteers to prepare taxes with Canada Revenue training. This is a no fee income tax preparation service for clients who qualify. To volunteer your skills or to see if you qualify to have your taxes completed, please call 780-865-6023.
