The Town of Hinton invites residents and visitors to embrace the beauty of winter during Forest of Lights, a two‑part illumination experience held as part of the annual Winter Magic Festival.
On February 11 from 6–9 PM, the Pretzel is set to transform into a glowing winter landmark. The skating loop will be weather-dependent based on the freezing of the skating loop. If conditions allow, enjoy skating through the forest under the glimmering lights.
If one of the beloved chinooks we know and love blows in and freezing conditions are not possible for skating, there will be a tractor-drawn wagon ride, first-come, first-served, to tour you around the magic of the Forst of Lights.
Either way, the Pretzel will be wrapped in string lights, creating a warm, welcoming glow at the heart of the Hinton Campground.
The celebration continues on February 18 from 6–11 PM, when sections of the boardwalk and trail network will shine at Maxwell Lake with a peaceful trail of lights. Visitors are encouraged to stroll the boardwalk, enjoy the crisp winter evening air, and experience winter in a new and enchanting way.
Forest of Lights is designed to bring residents together, offering a chance to slow down, connect with one another, and enjoy the quiet magic that winter brings to our community. Families, friends, and visitors of all ages are welcome to participate in these two unique evenings.
Both events are free to attend. Participants are encouraged to dress warmly and explore at their own pace.
