Regional Tuition Assistance Bursary Program
The Town of Hinton, in collaboration with the University of Alberta and the Town of Drayton Valley, is part of the Regional Tuition Assistance Bursary Program. This pilot program offers financial support to residents of Hinton who are pursuing post-secondary education training in 2025.
About
The Regional Tuition Assistance Bursary program is designed to reduce financial barriers to post-secondary education and support economic and workforce development in the region by assisting eligible students with tuition costs. A total of five bursaries of $2,000 each will be awarded to tuition-based expenses. Students are responsible for any additional fees for items such as books, supplies, transportation or accommodations.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Enrolled in post-secondary education commencing in 2025
- A resident of the Town of Hinton
Enrolment
Applicants must:
- Submit required documentation alongside their application, including proof of residency, program acceptance letter, documentation on other funding options, and anything else deemed required by the program administrator.
- Agree to provide proof of successful completion (e.g., copy of transcript, certificate, or letter from the Post Secondary Institute within 60 days of the program course end date.
- Agree and grant permission for the collection, use, and disclosure of their information for research and data collection purposes related to this program.
Application Process
Applicants must complete the Application Form.
Applicants must submit the following supporting documents along with the application form:
- Proof of residence – This could be a driver’s licence, utility bill or copy of lease agreement
- Proof of program admission
- Proof of course enrolment
- Statement of tuition amounts including due dates for all semesters
