Permits for Plumbing, Electrical, Gas, and Private Sewage Disposal Systems

These permits relate to specific skilled trades (electrical, plumbing, or gas) which are required in building and renovation projects. If you are altering these systems, a permit is required.

Application Process

  1. Complete the appropriate Permit Application and send to development@hinton.ca or submit in person at the Development Services department. Here are the application forms: Electrical Permit Application, Gas Permit Application, Plumbing Permit Application.
  2. Staff will assess the application for completeness, calculate the application fee, and provide the applicant with payment options.
  3. Once Development Services receives a complete application along with full payment, the Town will issue the permit.

  • Payment can be made in person at the Development Services Department (Government Centre, 131 Civic Centre Rd., Hinton) or online using Option Pay via the link below.
