Hinton Town Council Appoints Chief Administrative Officer

November 9th, 2018
Council is pleased to announce that Mr. Martin Taylor has been selected as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Town of Hinton.  He will be assuming his new role and responsibilities on January 2, 2019.

This is the key leadership position within the Town Administration and we are fortunate to have attracted strong candidates from across Canada with the assistance of Mr. James Davies of DCG Executive Search Ltd.

With almost 30 years of senior leadership experience in municipal government, and nearly 16 of those years as CAO, Mr. Taylor brings a solid understanding of municipal government to the Town.  He began his municipal career as the Director of Parks & Recreation with the Town of Bonnyville before moving to Williams Lake, BC.  In the late 1990’s, Mr. Taylor moved into the CAO role with the Town of Bon Accord, and then a senior leadership position with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George in Prince George.  He then returned to Alberta as CAO with the Village of Thorsby and later the Town of Fairview.  He has spent the last 7.5 years guiding the Town of Barrhead as their CAO.

Council wishes to thank Interim CAO Mike Koziol and the Town of Hinton staff for all their hard work over the last several months while the search for a new CAO was conducted.  Council is excited about continuing the positive momentum and feels that with the addition of Mr. Taylor to the existing senior leadership team, the Town of Hinton is well positioned for the future.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Taylor and his wife as they become permanent members of the community.
