Hinton Episode of Timber Kings Airs April 9, 2017

Since October, many Hintonites have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of the air date for our very own episode of Timber Kings, featuring the process Roger Roy and the Town of Hinton carried out to develop and install our incredible statue of a cougar and her two cubs. We're excited to announce that that episode airs in just over one week's time!

The Hinton Cougar Episode of Timber Kings Airs April 9, 2017 at 8PM MST! Find out more on HGTV's Website!

Cougar on ToH sign

Background of the Project

For decades, the cougar has represented Hinton. From Athacat (the Town Mascot) to the actual cougar posing atop the old Welcome to Hinton sign, the cougar has always been part of Hinton

A statue of a cougar has been envisioned for Green Square for years. This amazing work of art would stand out and be seen by the thousands of locals and visitors alike who pass by this busy location each day.

Local woodworker Roger Roy wanted to help make this dream and vision a reality. In 2015 and 2016, Roy worked with the world-famous Timber Kings out of Williams Lake, BC to develop a one-of-a-kind log carving for Hinton.
