Experience the Magic

The Winter Magic Festival is approaching, and with event registration now closed, this year’s lineup is coming together.

The festival runs February 6–23 and features community activities across Hinton, including Ski for Free opportunities and the annual Chilli Loppet at the Hinton Nordic Centre, the annual Family Dance, and Winter Warmup at Mary Reimer Park with horse-drawn sleigh rides.

Full event details and updates are available at: www.hinton.ca/wintermagic.

Grant Success in 2025

In 2025, the Town of Hinton secured more than $8.6 million through 17 grants, helping reduce reliance on local tax dollars while expanding services and opportunities across the community.

The funding supported youth employment, emergency preparedness, community celebrations, essential infrastructure, and programs for families and older adults. Investments also improved accessibility, transportation, and recreation sustainability.

Funded through a mix of provincial, federal, and private sources, these grants are helping build a safer, more inclusive, and resilient Hinton—now and for the future.

Keep dogs on leash

Leash Rules Matter

Hinton’s trail system is a great place to explore with your dog! With both on‑leash and off‑leash areas around town, it’s important to know where leashes are required. For example, dogs are allowed off-leash in the fenced, signed dog park in Mary Reimer Park, but not in the large grass area on the other side of the parling lot.

View trail maps, including an on/off leash map here.

Under the Town of Hinton’s Animal Control Bylaw, dogs must be under control at all times, whether on- or off-leash. Keeping your dog leashed where required helps protect pets, people, and wildlife—and ensures our shared trails stay safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Family Day Puzzle Quest

Puzzle Together

Join Hinton’s Family Day Puzzle Quest!

From February 9–23, discover local resources, connect with community services, and enjoy quality time together. Tour Hinton with your family and collect puzzle pieces at the Hinton Youth Centre, Hinton Family Centre, FCSS, Northern Rockies Museum, King Drug & Soda Shoppe, Full Circle, and the Hinton Municipal Library.

Complete fun activities at each stop for entries into the grand prize draw—every puzzle piece counts!

Discover community resources, enjoy family time, and celebrate Family Day in a whole new way. Don’t miss the adventure!
