Community Services Programming During the Alberta Teachers' Association Strike
October 7, 2025
To support families during the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike, the Town of Hinton has adjusted programming across the Community & Protective Services department. These changes are being delivered with existing staff and budgets by rearranging hours within FCSS and refocusing Recreation programs to serve youth during the day.
Several Town programs and facilities have adjusted their hours and added new activities to provide more options for children, youth and families. Where arena or facility schedules have been adjusted, all affected user groups have been contacted and accommodated through the scheduling shuffle.
