Pool Shutdown Progress: Week 4 UpdateSeptember 29, 2025 During week 4 of the Pool Shutdown, the Aquatic and Facility Maintenance teams have been working diligently. Their focus has been on key maintenance and deep-cleaning projects, moving us closer to reopening with a refreshed and well-prepared space for all to enjoy. Here's a look at what was completed or is underway this week: - Each sand vessel was refilled - that's 950lbs (431 kg) of sand per vessel
- Added 126 bags of salt to the main pool for startup - a total of 5,027lbs (2,280 kg)
- The acid room was gutted, cleaned, and reset (each acid barrel weighs 529 lbs (240 kg)
- Maintenance is working on the lights in the steam room
- Ceiling lights are being cleaned
- Tile work continues in the steam room
- The main pool pump was serviced, freshly painted and reinstalled
- Installation of anti-slip tiles at the pool entrances is in progress.
Thank you for your patience as this essential work continues. In the meantime, all other rec centre amenities remain open, including the bouldering wall, arenas and courts, so come on down to enjoy some indoor recreation.
