Keep Hinton Warm this Winter: Coats for Kids & the Community is Back!
September 23, 2025
Fall is officially here, and the cold months are right around the corner. That means it’s time for the Coats for Kids & the Community program, running from October 1 to November 30. This annual initiative collects and distributes free winter coats and accessories for children and adults of all ages.
How you can help:
Donate clean, gently used, outgrown, or new winter coats, snow pants, mitts, toques, and scarves. Monetary donations are also accepted to help purchase coats in high-demand sizes.
Where to donate coats:
- Hinton FCSS – 821 Switzer Drive (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.)
Where to pick up coats:
- Hinton Municipal Library – 803 Switzer Drive (Mon–Fri, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sat–Sun, Noon–4 p.m.)
- Hinton Food Bank – 124 Market Street (Tues, 6:30–8 p.m.)
- Hinton FCSS – 821 Switzer Drive (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.)
All coats are free of charge to those who need them. Availability depends on donations received, and specific sizes are not guaranteed.
This program is a true community effort, made possible with the support of the Hinton Municipal Library, Hinton Share Shop, and Hinton Food Bank.
