Update: Ammonia Leak at Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre

The Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre remains closed to the public for the remainder of the day, September 10, 2025. This includes the Library, Family Resource Network, Youth Centre, and Daycare. 

The facility is anticipated to re-open for regular service hours on September 11, 2025.

Re-opening includes:

• Hinton Municipal Library 
• Family Resource Network 
• Youth Centre
• Bouldering Wall
• Courts
• Meeting Rooms 

Ice user groups with scheduled ice times will be contacted directly throughout the day on September 11, 2025, as staff continue to assess the damage and determine the maintenance needed for the ice surface.
