Winter Conditions Return to the Region
Let's all give a hearty Hinton Welcome to Winter, who seems to have decided early October was the most appropriate time to return to our region. For drivers throughout the area, the Town of Hinton recommends caution as we all reacquaint ourselves with winter driving. Make sure you drive to conditions, and remember to check the roads using a service like Alberta511 or AMA Road Reports before you head out on long drives.
But winter doesn't just affect drivers. Pedestrians also need some support, which is why Protective Services would like to remind all residents of the Town of Hinton's Nuisance Bylaw (#1101), in particular S.8(g). The Bylaw requires that the occupant of land remove snow, ice, sand, dirt or debris from the sidewalks surrounding their property within 48 hours from the end of snowfall. Section S.8(h) also prohibits residents from pushing snow removed from private property onto roads, highways, or other public places without the express permission of the Town.
The Protective Services Department thanks you for your cooperation in this matter. By doing so, you will ensure that the health and safety of residents of the Town of Hinton is kept at a top priority. For more information, contact Protective Services at 780-865-6089.
Stay Safe Out There!
