Work Begins at The Guild

An exciting project for Hinton is underway! The Hinton Performing Arts Venue construction has begun. The construction, which is estimated to last until September of 2017, will create a place for theatre productions, cinema, lectures, and exhibitions; A space where arts and cinema can have a home in our community and region. This dedicated multi-use space defines Hinton as a community that supports, invests, grows and celebrates the value of arts and cinema, and the ways in which they strengthen and enrich our region.

The Performing Arts Venue replaces the Roxy Theatre, which was destroyed by fire in 2009.

What Does This Mean to Residents

Guild Staff are in Temporary Locations

As announced recently, Guild staff are now located in temporary office spaces. You can find the whole list of who has gone where by following this link. Even though their offices are moving, you'll still be able to reach all Guild staff members by dialing their normal phone numbers, or by email.

Temporary Pathway Created

As shown in the image below, the walkway that crosses in front of the Guild is now being blocked off by fencing. For pedestrian safety, a new pathway has been created. Follow this new path to avoid construction activity.

This walkway is anticipated to be in place until rear construction on the Performing Arts Facility is complete. Once construction is moved to the front of the building, another safe path will be established.
