Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre Sign Replacement
September 16, 2024
The Town of Hinton is pleased to announce that the replacement of the Recreation Centre sign, approved in the 2024 budget, will begin this week. Replacing the sign has been a priority as it provides critical programming information and important dates for recreation users. It also serves as an essential tool for emergency response messaging; as part of the Town of Hinton’s Emergency Response Plans, the Recreation Centre is designated as an evacuation location, and the sign plays a key role in sharing timely updates. Since the sign stopped working in the summer of 2023, the Town looks forward to restoring this level of service on Wednesday, September 18th.
For now, only the dismantling and removal of the current sign will take place this week. Contractors will return at a later date to install the new sign. The dismantling of the sign is expected to be completed in one day, beginning at 9:00 am on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
We kindly ask that all vehicles park away from the sign area to provide sufficient space for the contractors to work. Please ensure you slow down, respect posted signage, and remain mindful of on-site workers.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to improve this important facility.
