Notice of Pool Shutdown  

Pool Shutdown: Begins Monday, August 26, 2024

The annual pool shutdown at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre is scheduled from August 26 to October 10, 2024.

Pool shutdown is an important part of our aquatic facility's annual preventative maintenance cycle. This cycle keeps your pool healthy and functional and helps reduce maintenance-related service impacts throughout the year.

Regular pool shutdown work includes deep cleaning the pool basins, steam room, showers, and change rooms, replacing chipped tiles and re-grouting deteriorated sections, applying fresh grip paint to the pool deck and railings, and servicing pumps.

The installation of the new slide, new chemistry controllers, and a new steam unit are also scheduled during the pool shutdown. 

Annual pass holders automatically receive an additional month on their pass upon purchase, which covers the pool shutdown period. For questions about passes, call the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre Customer Service desk at 780-865-4412.
