Taking Action Against Elder Abuse Community Project 

We are delighted to announce some fantastic news that Hinton Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) would like to share with our community. The proposal for the Taking Action Against Elder Abuse Community Project year 1 has been approved! We are immensely grateful to inform you that funds in the amount of $49,309 have been granted for this vital initiative.

From September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024, these funds will be utilized to continue our crucial work in Elder Abuse Prevention on municipal, regional, and provincial levels, with a special focus on Relationships with Your Adult Children (RWYAC). RWYAC has proven to be a best practice in preventative education for older adults, and we are dedicated to implementing it effectively to safeguard the wellbeing of our senior community members.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Alberta Seniors and Housing and the Elder Abuse Awareness Council for their continuous support as a Funder and Partner. Their belief in our mission empowers us to work diligently towards creating a safer environment for older adults within our region.

At FCSS, the safety and wellbeing of older adults residing in our community are of utmost importance. We strive to prioritize their protection and security, and this approval further motivates us to continue our efforts in this direction.
