Town of Hinton Fire Ban

Town of Hinton Fire Ban Removed

Fire Ban & OHV Restrictions Revised: Wet and cool weather across parts of Alberta has reduced the fire hazard to a point where the province is adjusting the boundaries of the fire ban and OHV restriction. Effective at 4:00 pm today, May 19, 2016, the fire ban and OHV restrictions will not be in effect for much of the province. They will remain in effect for Lac La Biche & Fort McMurray forested areas.

The Town of Hinton is now lifting the fire and OHV ban. Even though conditions have improved it is still important to remember to prevent wildfires. Remember to fully extinguish camp fires and check hot spots on your OHV. For more information please refer to albertafirebans.ca or contact us at 780-865-6089.

For people that are camping or using OHV outside the Town of Hinton please contact Yellowhead County at 780-723-4800.
