Town of Hinton Fire Ban

FIRE BAN IN EFFECT
FOR THE TOWN OF HINTON

As of today, May 19, 2016 at 11:00, the Province of Alberta continues to have a full fire ban and off highway vehicle ban in place; therefore the Town of Hinton is still issuing a full fire ban within the municipality as well.

Though widespread rain and cooler temperatures have dropped the wildfire hazard to low in the Edson Forest Area, the fire ban remains in effect.

PROHIBITED: This means NO campfires, fire pits, fire works, burn barrels, slash piles, on both private property and in parks.  All fire permits are suspended until further notice.

ALLOWED: Portable propane fire pits, gas or propane stoves and barbecues (not charcoal briquettes) designed for cooking or heating, and catalytic or infrared-style heaters are permitted, but should be very closely monitored.

For ongoing information you can visit the Town of Hinton website for updates, or for further information, call the Hinton Fire Department at 780-865-6089.
