Councillor Currie's Resignation

Councillor Currie's Resignation

At the Standing Committee Council meeting on May 10, 2016, Councillor Dale Currie submitted his resignation letter, effective immediately.

In his letter submitted to Chief Administrative Officer, Mike Schwirtz, Councillor Currie said he has enjoyed serving the residents of Hinton over the past years, and values the friendships he has made with fellow Councillors and administration.

“I wish all the best to the residents of Hinton for a bright and prosperous future. Hinton is a community that cares and it has been my honour serving you as Town Councillor,” reads Councillor Currie’s letter.

Councillor Currie was elected in 2013 for his sixth term as a Town of Hinton Councillor, and has served as Councillor for 17 years.

Mayor Rob Mackin stated, “Dale was an extremely dedicated, fair and effective Councillor. Our community was well served by Councillor Currie and we will miss his contributions.”

Administration has been directed to provide information regarding a by-election for Council discussion at the May 17, 2016 Regular Council Meeting.
