FCSS Coordinator; Family Life
July 25, 2022
The FCSS Team and the Town of Hinton are anxiously awaiting the new Family Life Coordinator’s arrival, Trish Leduc. Trish’s first day will be September 6th at FCSS. Trish brings over 15 years of experience in senior programming, community outreach, and managing volunteers. Trish has FCSS experience and recently had the opportunity to develop and facilitate a Senior Elder Abuse Prevention Program. Trish is relocating from the beautiful City of Leduc and is excited for the opportunity to join the Hinton FCSS team to help create a cohesive community through awareness, education, collaboration, service coordination, and advocacy.
The primary focus of the Family Life Coordinator is to serve our community through a proactive, preventative approach. This service includes educating families and agencies about ageism, healthy intergenerational relationships, isolation, and respite care. The education equips families and community members to identify, prevent, and respond appropriately to situations of family violence and senior abuse. The education component is key to prevention; this service also provides meaningful connections for residents in need and supports their mental wellbeing through temporary, supportive listening. The position is responsible for the development, promotion, and delivery of effective preventative social programs and services that will enhance the quality of life for families such as family events and the rural mental health project.
Please join us in welcoming Trish to Hinton and to the FCSS Team.
