Covid-19 Case at Town of Hinton

The Town of Hinton is confirming that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19.
Upon being identified as a close contact of a confirmed case on April 8, 2021, the employee began self-isolating, and tested positive for COVID-19 a few days later. The employee notified Town management after close contact confirmation and quickly took the appropriate steps to self-isolate and get tested. The Town of Hinton internal Safe Work Practices were activated immediately.
The Town and Alberta Health Services have begun the contact tracing process and the Town has already notified employees who have been identified as close contacts to provide them with further guidance. Upon review of the confirmed case, the Town has determined no additional actions are required at this time. Rigorous environmental cleaning of the necessary areas has been completed.
This notice is intended to provide this assurance to the public who may be aware of the confirmed case, and to inform of the measures taken to protect the public and our employees. The Town has taken the proper steps to ensure there is no risk of exposure to workers and the general public from this confirmed case.
The Town of Hinton encourages all residents to continue to follow all provincial guidelines and AHS recommendations.
