Hinton RCMP charge subject for trafficking methamphetamines
The Town of Hinton received the press release from the Hinton RCMP.

On Feb. 19, 2021, at approximately 9 p.m., Hinton RCMP located a vehicle in the ditch off Highway 16 in the Town of Hinton.
Hinton RCMP, in conjunction with the Hinton General Investigation Section, commenced an investigation which led to obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle. RCMP conducted a search of the vehicle and seized a significant amount of Canadian currency in the amount of over $8,000, as well as approximately 5 ounces of methamphetamine, 330 mL of GHB, cell phones, a safe, documents, and other electronic devices.
Jolyne Gwendolyn Ireland (39) of Edmonton, has been charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine)
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Ireland did not speak to bail and remains in custody at this time pending a court appearance today, Feb. 23, 2021, to speak to these matters.
“The seizure of these drugs off the streets will have a direct impact for the safety of the public,” says, Sgt. Graham Gurski, Hinton RCMP Operations NCOi/c. “This investigation demonstrates the continued dedication of the Hinton RCMP in reducing crime and making the communities of Hinton and Yellowhead County safer for its citizens.”
