Staffing Announcement: Resignation of Director of Protective Services
January 28, 2021
It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that the Town of Hinton CAO has accepted the resignation of the Protective Services Director and Fire Chief Todd Martens. February 12, 2021 will be his last official day at the Town of Hinton.
Since joining the Town of Hinton in December 2014, Todd Martens has supported the growth of the Protective Services Department over the last several years, managing Fire Rescue Services, Bylaw Services, Automated Traffic Enforcement Program (ATE), Emergency management, Health & Safety, Peace Officer Program as well as the RCMP administrative staff, and worked closely with the RCMP and Hinton Victim Services. For over 6 years, as the Fire Chief and with the substantial scope and responsibility of Protective Services Department, Todd has been a critical leader in the organization, an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, and a dedicated support for the CAO. Todd was able to make anyone smile with his keen sense of humor and was known to brighten someone’s day should they have needed it. Todd’s hardwork, commitment, and dedication are worthy of admiration and will always be remembered.
Todd Martens will be taking on an exciting role with Fort Saskatchewan, as Fire Chief. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours and thank him for his service to the Town of Hinton.
