Hinton RCMP on patrol locate male wanted on warrants in stolen vehicle
Hinton, Alta. – While patrolling in the area of Park Street near Highway 16 on July 5, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Hinton RCMP member identified a stolen vehicle being driven by an individual known to be on outstanding warrants of arrest.
A vehicle stop was initiated; however, the driver failed to stop and fled. Additional assistance was received by other members of the Hinton RCMP and a tire deflation device was successfully deployed, bringing the stolen vehicle to a stop. The driver fled the vehicle on foot and the Hinton RCMP located and arrested the suspect.
The outstanding warrants on the unrelated matters have all been executed.
Jonathyn Dale Bruno (31) of Hinton is charged with:
- Flight from police
- Operate conveyance in a manner dangerous to the public and as a result, caused bodily harm
- Operate a conveyance involved in an accident failed without reasonable excuse to stop and provide assistance
- Resist peace officer in the execution of their duties
- Breach of probation (x2)
- Breach Recognizance
- Possession of stolen property of a value not exceeding $5,000
Following a judicial hearing, Bruno did not speak to bail and was remanded into custody to attend court on July 15, 2020, in Hinton Provincial Court to speak to all matters.
