We understand that you may wish to reach out to the Town of Hinton during this time. With all Town of Hinton facilities closed, please contact the individual locations and staff you're looking for using information below should you need to do business with the Town of Hinton. They can work with you directly to provide whatever support you need.

Town Response to Provincial Restrictions
On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, the Province of Alberta announced new restrictions in place in Alberta until at least January 12, 2021, in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic (please familiarize yourself with all restrictions, as viewable on the Provincial Website, Town of Hinton COVID Website, or CivicSend).

In response to these announced restrictions, Town of Hinton CAO Emily Olsen and Senior Leadership have made decision that all Town Buildings will be closed to the public on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

These closures will make all buildings only accessible by the public on an appointment basis. In the interest of continuity of service to our community, we are including key information for important facilities in Hinton, to the right.

Doing Business

We'd like to remind residents who may have business licenses coming do, or other business, of their options for online operations, including: 

Accessing Your Information

Paying Your Bills
  • You can drop your payment in the secure mail box located outside the main entrance at the Government Centre on the right hand side of the main doors. The Town of Hinton recommends dropping off mail between 8am and 4pm, Monday thru Friday, holidays exempted. 
  • The Town of Hinton is partnered with the OptionPay System to accept online payments with select credit cards
    • Payments may be accepted via Mastercard and Visa. Please note that OptionPay institutes a fee for use

  • You can pay as a bill through your online banking
    • You will have to set up the Town of Hinton as one of your payees. You can try searching “Hinton” or “Town of Hinton”. Three different options should appear, one being for utilities, property taxes and accounts receivable. In this case you will want to select the accounts receivable. Your account number will be your customer number on your invoice. Your bank may require more digits than the customer number, if so you will need to put a zero or zero's in front of the first digit of your customer number in order to make it as many digits as they require

COVID-19 Updates

Scheduled COVID-19 Updates will be issued on an altered schedule; Wednesday the 23 and 30 instead of Thursdays.
