Hinton’s Rural Renewal Stream, part of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), is open for applications from Hinton employers with recruitment needs as of January 16, 2023.
The AAIP offers eligible foreign nationals the opportunity to immigrate to Alberta as a Provincial Nominee if they have the formal support of a Designated Community. The aim of the Rural Renewal Stream of the AAIP is to fill labour gaps in rural communities by empowering Designated Communities to help their employers recruit and retain foreign nationals to live, work, and settle in Alberta’s rural communities.
The Town of Hinton is proud to be a Designated Community and has formed a working committee of community stakeholders and social service agency representatives with a shared mandate of supporting employers and newcomers to the community.
The Hinton Rural Renewal Stream Committee is responsible identify eligible employers with full time permanent jobs and endorsing candidates for employment who the employer and the community can support. Endorsed candidates then apply to be nominated for permanent residency through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program, a fast-tracking arrangement with the Government of Canada.
Employers that wish to fill job vacancies using Hinton’s Rural Renewal Stream must demonstrate a supportive workplace and the full time, permanent employment must be locally advertised first. Candidates that receive a job offer from these employers will be endorsed by the Hinton Rural Renewal Stream Committee and also connected with Hinton’s social supports. Hinton’s Endorsement Letter is a key component in the candidate’s application to the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.
