Fecal Contamination Response

The Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Center’s Aquatic Centre has experienced an increase of fecal contaminations in the last few weeks. This is a reminder that infants / toddlers that are not potty trained or individuals experience control issues are required to wear double barrier protection (swim diaper / bathing attire). This will help eliminate accidents ending up into our clean pools. All individuals should refrain from swimming if they are ill or have been ill in the past 24 hours after being sick.

If you notice a fecal contamination, please notify the Lifeguard on deck. Once you are out of the contaminated pool, you are required to take a cleansing shower with soap and water. This ensures the contamination is not being spread to the other pools.

There are swim diapers and waterproof swim covers for purchase at the Front Desk in case you forget to bring your own supplies. Ask the Customer Service Clerks for more information.

Thank you for your efforts to keep our pools clean and safe for all users of the facility.
