Unsubscribes Help

As many users have encountered, Civicplus is experiencing strange issues relating to unsubscribes on this channel. What we believe is occurring at this time is that links are being clicked on the user end (according to the website hosting and notification systems records). However, according to our subscribers, no link is being pressed.


From the best we can tell, it appears that link checking email security on the recipient end may be testing link integrity and end points, which is registering as clicks. So our notification system says “all is functioning properly, user opted out” while the user … did not. It mostly seems to occur with office 365 enterprise users. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot we can do to help as the root issue hasn’t been confirmed by either CivicPlus it or user end IT staff. The Town of Hinton recommends you requesting that IT whitelist the Town of Hinton newsletter email addresses from email security. There does seems to be a second issue with forwarded or alias emails.
