Councillor Albert Ostashek was born in Hinton in 1972. While he calls Hinton his lifelong home, he technically grew up in Brule, though he attended school in Hinton. After high school, Albert studied Business Administration at Red Deer College, moving back to Hinton in his 20's, where he met his wife Cindy and they began their family. He and Cindy have raised two children in the community.
Ostashek owns and operates a successful construction company here in Hinton, which has afforded him a unique perspective and insight into managing organizations. He has sat on numerous boards, including: Community Engagement Advisory Committee, the Hinton Regional Economic Development Coalition, the Hinton Grant Funding Advisory Committee, the Town of Hinton Participatory Budget Committee, as well as holding positions of Treasurer and Vice-President on the Hinton & District Chamber of Commerce.
Albert spent his whole life here, and has seen first hand Hinton’s achievements, and the challenges Hinton has faced. He believes that Hinton is a great community but, as great as it is, it can be better. He appreciates being elected to Town Council for the opportunity to make it so.
