Programs & Events

Hello Hinton

This program provides relevant information to people who are new to our town making them more aware of available services, resources, and amenities.

Neighbourhood Block Party

A Neighbourhood Block Party aims to create opportunity for neighbours to meet each other in a social environment and better know one another. An appointed person can apply for up to $200 in rebates for eligible expenses related to hosting a party.

Hinton Family Centre

The program is a free admission, drop-in centre for parents and children ages 0-6 years old. The goal is to support family connection between parent and child in a safe and caring environment.

Volunteer Police Information Checks (PICs)

This program relieves non-profit groups of the cost of PICs for their volunteers. Volunteers are required to obtain a letter from their respective organizations stating that they are recruiting that person's volunteer services. The letter must be submitted to the RCMP along with a current driver's license with a Hinton address on it. PICs take up to 1 week to process and are free of charge. Volunteers must pick up their PIC in person and show their driver's license at that time.

Volunteer Screening Workshops

Information sessions are offered once a year to help organizations with the volunteer screening process. To find out when the next session is, please call 780-865-2670.

Event Velcro Banner Rentals

Velcro banner rentals are $10 per week per banner. It is a simple way to advertise your event. There are 4 different sizes and colors of lettering and 3 different banner sizes, which are
  • 4 feet by 20 feet
  • 3 feet by 10 feet
  • 2 feet by 5 feet
