Councillor Dewly Nelson, his wife Camille, and his kids Duke and Cadence moved to Hinton in 2014. Along with his partners, he opened Intersport, which is their fourth brick and mortar location in Alberta. Councillor Nelson has worked with Intersport since 2003. Since moving to Hinton, Dewly has been involved with many non-profits, served on the Chamber Board, the Hinton Regional Economic Development Coalition, and Hinton Energy Alternative Team.
Nelson is originally from Mayerthorpe, AB and has lived in both Edmonton and Calgary, along with a year in Finland. Hinton has proved to be a perfect place for business and family. It's a small, vibrant community with unparalleled natural amenities.
Nelson's passion for the community, energy, and work ethic will be an asset to Town Council. Residents can expect to see him attending or volunteering at many events in Hinton. He is excited to serve Hinton both now and in the future.
